The Collins Tee is the newest pattern from Four Purl’s owner Laura Dobratz! Inspired by the first purl, Aspen and her new home in Ft Collins, CO!
The Collins Tee is a top-down, yoked, short-sleeved top featuring simple colorwork elements that are suitable for adventurous beginning knitters. The pattern is offered in a range of sizes with options to add length for those who don’t prefer a crop. It can be knit in 2-7 (or more) colors.
For Laura, naming her patterns is one of the hardest parts! It sometimes takes her weeks to come up with a name that describes the garment and her emotions around the design. Several months ago, Laura designed a cowl using 2 skeins of Practically Perfect Halves. The whole pattern was ready to go and she was still changing her mind about what it should be named. Her super clever daughter, Aspen, is a genius at clever names (have you looked at some of the colorway names for Emma’s Yarn?). She was preparing to move to Ft. Collins, Colorado, and suggested Laura name it the Collins Cowl and asked that she use the same stitches and make her a Collins Tee, too!
Laura had a beautiful combination of 4 colors in a brand-new yarn from Dream in Color and just knew the second she laid her hands on it that she wanted to wear it against her skin, and that it would show off the stitches in the Collins collection perfectly. And the tee was born.
We’ve put together a few combinations of Dream in Colors Lamb and Goat that we think there are just beautiful! We’ve listed each color name next to its image, each combo uses one main color and 3 contrast colors. You’ll need the following quantities of Lamb and Goat.
