Did you know that there are no naturally occurring green plant based dyes? Hard to believe with all the green plant material that is available to us. What we do have is an abundance of yellows, from bright sunshine yellow, to golden yellow, to beige yellow. When you overdye these yellows with Indigo, the only blue dye source, you get a range of greens! Leaf green, teal, emerald…all possible with the right combination. We will explore all the yellows we can, and then overdye with with indigo to get all the greens! Student will leave as always with a complete set of mini skeins dyed in class. It is highly likely that we will have extra indigo in this class, so feel free to bring a skein or 2 of your own clean yarn to dye blue.

All materials and yarn are included in class fee as well as lunch.
