Take your Short Rows to the next level.

Sunday, March 19: 10 am – 1 pm

In this advanced class, we will be reviewing and or learning 5 short row techniques. I will cover the Wrap & Turn in Garter, Wrap & Turn in Stockinette (& picking up wraps), German Short Rows, Shadow Wraps (aka Twin Stitch, aka Lifted Increase Short Rows), & Japanese Short Rows. The class will use 2 contrasting colors of yarn & you will be employing intarsia techniques to carry the yarn. The short rows are written in my signature style. The goal is to open your world up to glorious short row patterns & help you be comfortable managing multiple colors.

Pre-work Required –
SOLID knowledge of casting on, knitting and purling, and general knitting vocabulary.Some familiarity with short rows is strongly suggested. This class is more likely to be suited to knitters with more than basic knitting experience. All levels are welcome.

Materials Required –
yarn- a standard twist yarn in any weight that YOU like working with. PLEASE use a medium to light colored yarn. Dark yarns can be hard to see. Please have 2 colorways available that have a nice contrast. For the class sample you will want at least 50g of each colorway.
notions- appropriate needles for knitting on gauge in your chosen yarn. removable markers (I love “calabash pins” or “bulb safety pins”) are a MUST.
pattern – Class materials include a basic pattern for practicing the short row techniques.
