Brioche with Barb Feb 3, 10, & 17 12:30-2:30p

This class will allow you to learn straight, basic 2-color brioche in the round and how to cast on and off for 2-color brioche.  You will also learn increases and decreases which create the curvy designs so pretty with brioche knitting.  Two free cowl patterns will be provided in class, or you may decide on a brioche pattern of your choice – I am happy to help with this.  However, remember that the pattern must be knit in the round to accommodate lessons taught in this class.  An additional class is required to learn how to knit brioche on two sides with two colors.

Session 1 – 2 hours:  Brioche basics, casting on, basic brioche.

Session 2 – 2 hours:  Increases, decreases, and binding off.

Session 3 – 2 hours:  Start project – questions, help.

Materials:

2 colors of DK or sport yarn for learning in class

Size 5 or 6 circular needles, 16”

Tapestry needle for binding off

The practice piece we will be doing in class will be a mini cowl including all techniques required in the provided patterns.
