Description
Meet the Maker’s Pulligan by Marci Marra, a pullover cleverly disguised as a cardigan!
This unique design gives you the polished look of a classic button-front cardigan without the buttonholes, pulling, or gaping. Decorative buttons are sewn directly onto the front band, creating the look of a cardigan while keeping the sweater securely closed like a pullover. You can also skip the buttons and wear it as an open-front cardigan for a more traditional look.
The Maker’s Pulligan is worked seamlessly from the top down. The back is knit first, followed by the fronts, which are joined at the underarm and worked to the full body length. A ribbed collar is picked up along the front edges, and the sleeves are picked up and worked last.
The finishing touch is three simple crochet chains worked down the back to create bold vertical stripes and subtle contrast. This easy technique adds plenty of visual interest to this otherwise classic silhouette.
Our Maker’s Pulligan kits from Emma’s Yarn (Spectacular DK 75% Superwash Merino and 25% Nylon, with 255 yards per 100-gram skein) include the yarn needed to make your chosen size.
