Description
Ancient Moss is an asymmetrical skinny triangle shawl that features an allover mosaic slipped stitch pattern. The design is written for three colorways, but it is very flexible and can be worked with as few as two colors or as many as you would like. Mosaic knitting is a great introduction to colorwork since it uses only one color per row, and the stitch pattern in Ancient Moss is simple to memorize while still creating beautifully textured fabric.
Emma’s Yarn Drapey DK gives this shawl its lovely silhouette. The blend of Superwash Merino and Silk provides excellent drape, a soft hand, and a gentle sheen that highlights the mosaic stitches. The shawl finishes at approximately 15 by 95 inches, making it a lightweight but dramatic accessory that can be wrapped, layered, or styled in many ways.
Each kit includes three skeins of Emma’s Yarn Drapey DK, which is a 70 percent Superwash Merino and 30 percent Silk blend with 231 yards per 100 gram skein. The pattern, designed by Melissa Kemmerer, is sold separately on Ravelry. The sample shown uses the Mine Ya Business color combination.
